ECU Tuning

We are currently offering an ECU modifcation service for all VP37 pumped Volkswagen group Tdi and Sdi engines.  For pre 2000 ECUs this involves removing the chips that contain the engine control parameters and replacing them with sockets and new programable chips that have reworked engine contol data.

Modications are done after consultation with the customer and can include -

• Injection timing under any differing load, engine speed or coolant temperature.
• Pre-start glow plug control - the temperature of activation and temperature dependant duration of pre glow can be modified as desired
• Post-start glow plug control - temperature dependant glow duration can be modified
• Intermediate glow - normally unused - the glow plugs can be set to activate, during engine operation at defined points under any given engine speed and temperature.
• EGR - exhaust gas recirculation rates can be fully controlled dependant on engine speed and load
• Cold engine idle speed - Idle speed can be adjusted at any engine temperature.

• Turbo boost rate can be modified to provide additional air to aid combustion and modify peak cylinder temperatures.
